Excellent celebrations this weekend at Haworth, Yorkshire, commemorating 10 years of Twinning with Machu Picchu.

Together with the Chair of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with Peru and local authorities, Ambassador Juan Carlos Gamarra inaugurated the event in which attendees enjoyed Peruvian music, gastronomy, photographic exhibitions and were able to learn more about Machu Picchu and Peru.

The commemoration of the 198th anniversary of our independence in London started with the laying of a wreath before the monument of General Jose de San Martin in Belgravia Square.

Afterward, a mass of thanksgiving took place in the Catholic Church of Saint Anne at Vauxhall, with participation of the Peruvian community.

Finally, a reception was offered, where the Ambassador of Peru and the Consul General in London updated the community on their current work and on the upcoming celebration of the Bicentennial.
