British Foreign Secretary, Boris Johnson, visited the Peruvian Amazon accompanied by Foreign Minister Nestor Popolizio. Both authorities arrived to an animal rescue centre as part of the efforts to eliminate illegal wildlife trade.

During the visit, Peru announced that it will join the London Declaration on the illegal wildlife trade and will be sending a high-level delegation to the Wildlife Trade Conference, which will be hosted by the UK next October.
