OPENING OF ‘THE INVISIBLE FOREST’, A FABULOUS EXHIBITION OF PAINTINGS BY RENOWNED PERUVIAN AMAZON ARTISTS
On 30th May, Ambassador Juan Carlos Gamarra launched the exhibition ‘The Invisible Forest’, which portrays works by renowned Indigenous Peruvian Amazonian artists, curated by Patsy Craig at Gallery 46 in London.
The Invisible Forest is ‘a tribute to the complexity of the Amazon - a vast, rugged, beautifully diverse expanse integral to the Earth System’s ecological well being’, according to Patsy Craig. The event is part of The Flourishing Diversity Series, a project initiated by Ms Craig in collaboration with CAOS (Centre for the Anthropology of Sustainability) at University College of London and Synchronicity Earth, that aims to help develop improved models of environmental stewardship.
The artists featured in the exhibition which goes until June 29th are: Brus Rubio, Santiago Yahuarcani, Rember Yahuarcani, Lastenia Canayo, Miguel Vilca, Roldan Pinedo, Elena Valera, Estefany Pinedo Valera, and Jimena Pinedo Valera.
