The Embassy of Peru represents the Peruvian Government to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. It is also concurrent to Ireland.

The long standing bilateral relation with the United Kingdom maintains a high level of dialogue between its authorities, being trade, investment and cooperation in the educational, judicial and police fields the most relevant issues in the bilateral agenda.

The United Kingdom is the second largest foreign investor in Peru and bilateral trade has been growing over the last years with a trade surplus for Peru.

In the multilateral area, the Embassy of Peru acts a Permanent Mission to the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and to the International Coffee Organization (ICO). 


Peru joined the International Maritime Organization in 1968. At IMO Peru contributes to set standards and actions on maritime safety, protection of the marine environment, technical cooperation. Peru has ratified the most important IMO instruments.  Peru was elected to the IMO Council, category C, in 2013 and re-elected for the term 2016-2017. It actively participates in Committees and Subcommittees in order, and implementation of Conventions and adoption of the IMO Strategic Plan.

At the International Coffee Organisation (ICO) Peru became a member state in 2015 due to the growth and dynamism of coffee sector in Peru, and to the importance of promoting its development, competitiveness and sustainability.
